There are 2 credible records that prove the name of Billy the Kid's mother was Catherine McCarty. Of course, I cannot prove that she was never known as Katherine Bonney. Strange that you brought that up, since there is no evidence, much less proof, that James Henry Roberts, Mary Adeline Dunn, cousin Ollie Roberts, half-brother James Roberts ever existed. Unless, of course, you believe Brushy Bill. If so, you might be interested in investing in ocean front property in Arizona.

That's what they call Stockholm syndrome. You must have been one of Jim's victims. If you seek help you can get away from loving to be abused. It could even help you to not abuse others as is the norm for people who have been through what you must have endured at the hands of your abuser. Resist your temptation. Are you referring to this saying, "You can't fix stupid."  Jim Johnson really upset the apple cart with his book, "Billy the Kid, His Real Name Was..."  His conclusion was the same as that of Roy Haws, a distant relative of Brushy Bill.  Brushy Bill was Oliver P Roberts.  Skeptics have not proved otherwise in the 69 years since his death, no matter how many theories and excuses have been offered.
