I am a little confused
As there often seems to be only one BTK photo - that is stated to be known as 'real'
But then every other photo that pops up - seems to do so with two other statements... the first being that it's only the second photo authenticated as being a genuine shot... and that it will shortly be sold for an expected x Millions.
I have seen posts on here suggest there are two [and not the official one] authentic BTK photos... obs for this I am ignoring all photos taken of BTK after he was 'killed'
Can anyone on here help me find this out, as Google doesn't seem to have the answers:
PHOTO 1
Would be the standard POSING OUTSIDE A FORT SUMNER SALOON, 1879 - shot. I'm fine with this one. Sold for $2.3 million.
PHOTO 2
BTK playing croquet in 1878. Bought for $2 in 2010 by Randy Guijarro found in a junk shop. Extensively 'authenticated' and expected to go for millions.
Did this sell. For how much. And I guess all the authenticators - haven't proved this is 100% the real thing???
PHOTO 3
BTK as an 18 year old playing cards
“There is no doubt about the photo’s authenticity. This is historically important, incredibly rare and one of a kind. It also possesses meticulous and irrefutable Anderson family provenance dating back three generations."
It said it was expected to sell for $1m
Did this sell. For how much. And I guess the authenticator was the auction house [?] - I guess again this hasn't been proved 100% the real thing???
PHOTO 4
2014 Youngest Photo of BTK. Him Standing Up.
Forensic artist Lois Gibson examined de Aragon's photo side by side with the original [as in PHOTO 1 in this list], and believes it to be real.
"The interesting thing is, if you notice the pose, it's exactly the same as the tin type," de Aragon said. "His earring; the famous gambler's gold pinkie ring on his finger…and if you look at two photographs, they're almost identical, except one he has a cowboy outfit, and the other he has a suit."
I don't think this photo was ever up for sale - or had a price estimate? Is this the other photo - when people on here [in threads] suggest there are only 2 known photos of BTK?
PHOTO 5
Sat next to Dan Dedrick.
The 2015 reports on this say, "If true, it would be only the second known image of the Wild West gunslinger."
Does that mean photos 2 - 4 have all been disproven, by 2015?
“The other individual had remained unidentified until recently when I identified him as Dan Dedrick, a very close friend of Billy’s. Identification of Dedrick is the ‘clincher’ in this image, elevating a near-certain image to a clearly and obvious picture of the Kid," Frank Parrish
Has this photo ever had a value put on it. And is this the 2nd photo - that on here people mention as being one of only two BTK photos?
PHOTO 6
Ok this one is a bit of fun... I doubt this is real...
BTK posing with Pat Garrett & Others 1880
Hmm... seems rather unlikely... and the info I have about it states this, "some historians believe it's a photo of outlaw BTK..."
They lost me as "some historians" - hmm
I would love to know more about the photos. I guess they haven't been debunked - maybe just not proven... so some people believe them to be real, and others not....
Thanks for any info / help
Best wishes xx
