Very good info. I saw it when it came out. Im sure some will say "well, hes wearing a 20 year old coat". I dont buy that. The badge that may be on the coat is interesting, they did use coins at that time. Could be Brushys US Marshal photo.

I believe this is some of the best if not "the" best evidence to date showing that Brushy was not the real Oliver Pleasant Roberts. Many thanks to Dan for all his diligent research and discoveries.

After many years hosting this message board, I have arrived at the conclusion that not everyone should be able to participate. For example, if the "Billy The Kid Outlaw Gang" ran a similar board they certainly wouldn't allow me to post on there in support of Brushy. While some naysayers stay respectful and while I value there opinions as they stir intelligent discussions, I've decided to move the line a bit when it comes to posts that are abusive of our board. I will not allow anyone to attack another person's character or dignity and I will not allow long dissertations of information that is not verified where there is no source provided, etc. With the newest information, largely contributed by Colt45, the debate over Brushy being Billy is becoming overheated and mean spirited because the "naysayers" get ugly when they lose ground. I have begun banning members and guests who promote that and I won't always wait until it becomes obvious. Sometimes the abuse is more subtle but it's still abuse. I hope this crack down will encourage more participation from those who do want to be constructive. Many thanks to the hundreds that have made this board so popular. Let's make it even better.

Not a bad idea Wayne. It would be different if they showed proof against Brushy, but they dont, just the same tired arguments that dont show anything. One post they say census data isnt accurate, then post census data as proof...
A couple huge wins for Brushy in my opinion are the death of Jim Carlyle with what Brushy said compared to letter to Wallace, and his description of the killing of Deputy Bell compared to what Steve Sederwall found at the old jail. Brushy was there.

Don't misunderstand. I didn't say I was going to ban anyone who doesn't believe Brushy's story. The most recent ban was because the member was sharing an email thread he exchanged with another member in order to make that member look bad. I consider email exchange as private conversation. So it's that kind of thing that is abusive that I will no longer allow.

Some of those people come here with their minds already made up from years before and trying to convice us that Brushy is nothing but a liar and a joke, I know a couple of them from facebook and anything that concerns Brushy, they just wont have it , wont even talk about it and even at some point will block you(Ive been blocked myself), and those same bunch of people are members here lol, why? If they believe that he's a fraud then why come here and waste their time? Its gotten worse since the Silver City photo came out. I would bet a weeks pay that even banned, they will still come and troll around here. I agree with Wayne, some of them did not belong here but not all of them...

Wayne Land, Host Totally agree Wayne. Those that are open minded and genuinely want to research and understand should not have to endure nonsense at the hands of people with an agenda. In regards to the video referenced in this thread, one of these people reached out to the source I mentioned and tried to get them to change their opinion. They actually stood by their opinion but this is what we are dealing with. This is not academic research. These are people with an agenda trying to promote themselves and control the narrative. If their comments and information is so good let them post in their groups and boards and if people are interested they will go to them. Those that would prefer your board and what the people that actually appreciate this board have to say will come here. I applaud your willingness to do this because I know you value diverse opinions but my own opinion is that what these people are doing is not legitimate dialogue. Its bullying and trolling. |
