Jesse James letter from Brownwood Texas in 1879

I found an interesting Louisiana news article mentioning a letter Jesse James wrote from Brownwood Texas that he sent to the Editor of the Clipper Herald in Hannibal MO. In 1879. If it really was from Jesse James that is? Was Brownwood Texas a town associated with Dalton?

It seems that there was a banker living in Brownwood by the name of Henry Ford who died in 1910, and he claimed to be Jesse James. So unrelated to Dalton, but clearly Jesse James was a man that many claimed to be.
