Here's a pic of a guy who is supposed to be be Billy. The guy that posted the pic claimed that the Dedrick tintype is not Billy. He also said that he owns the diary of one of Billy's girlfriends and he has the true story in hand and a tv series is in his plans. The Jones boys also said that the guy on the Dedrick pic was not him and did not look like Billy at all...  |

Personally Im kinda neutral in this, old timers were known to lie and spice up their stories so nothing would suprise me today if the Dedrick tintype was not Billy. Why would the Jones boys said that Billy did not look like that and wasnt him on the photograph? Billy would stay with The Jones family quite a while before the LCW and came to visit after, so I think they knew him pretty well. Who knows maybe the Joneses were lying...

The provenance of the one known Billy tintype is impeccable, we know who three of the 4 originals went to, it was even published, as Billy, in his lifetime, and it was identified as Billy by MANY who knew him. The above photo, however, is not Billy. It's a photo of an unidentified man that Fredrick Nolan bought because he thought it resembled him, but he never claimed it was him.

There are tons of alleged Billy pics out there. I believe the Dedrick tintype is him and that Brushy is the kid.
