Drawing of Billy the Kid

I found this drawing of Billy the Kid in a St Louis Republic Nov. 18, 1900 newspaper. Interesting as to where the artist got the idea for the features? At first when I saw this and I thought it had a little similarity to the Billy the Kid in the Silver City photo.
