I stumbled across this group photo reading about Jesse Evans, it’s the second photo down on the page. The man sitting in back row fourth from left looks like Billy the Kid to me. I don’t know if Jesse Evans is supposed to be in this group photo? I wonder if it really is a photo of some of the Jesse Evans or Kinney gang?, but it looks a lot like Bob Olinger standing at left. In my opinion, the man in question has a more square face than the Dedrick tintype shows, though I could be wrong on this

In my opinion, the man in question has a more square face than the Dedrick tintype shows, though I could be wrong on this Welcome to the board basketballhq, I didn’t notice the shape of the face, visually comparing it to the Dedrick tintype the face does look a little more squared. Thanks for pointing that out. The hat the man is wearing is sitting back on his head, not like the Dedrick tintype where Billy is wearing it more forward. Billy may have been used to wearing his hat that way and may have been his regular style, that’s something else to consider. I was considering that if Jesse Evans or John Kinney is supposed to be in the photo, I don’t know if it is an authenticated photo of either of them or not though, but if one or both are in the photo then the odds of another man that has characteristics of Billy the Kid in the same photo may be high, but not if facial shape and the style he wears his hat is different and also his hands, Billy was said to have had small hands, the man in the group photo doesn’t look to have small hands, I don’t know? It’s an interesting photo |

Remember the Dedrick tintype shows Billy with his mouth partially opened which means the chin drops down a bit and the shape of the jaw changes. I'm intrigued by this photo actually, I might do some overlay comparisons.
