If the familial DNA stands up it's fairly accurate isn't it? Apols if i understand that wrong.
I still think Dalton was involved / knew JJ somehow, was he part of the KGC, if that was even a thing?
Was he Bud Dalton?
There's something to Dalton....he just wasn't JJ.
Donning the Devil's Advocate hat....if he was who is indicated, and linked to JJ, he may well have know Brushy (whoever you think he is) from way back anyway.......
Were they JJ and BTK?
Were they 2 others involved enough to know details they could pool together for a cunning ruse.....?

I could understand the Jesse James lie if he thought there was inheritance to be had or what have you, but Brushy being a con is way too much of a risk for a man who still had a death sentence hanging over his name (BTK) when the American justice system has been sending people (often innocent) to the chair for far less - especially when Pat’s family were still around and capable of what they did at that Mabry meeting. Also - Brushy aside - what did all of BTK’s friends/allies have to gain from positively identifying Brushy? Knowing if they were discovered or even suspected as lying under oath or committing perjury they’d be facing a lot of legal trouble themselves. Maybe some inner religious conflict too if they were Christian etc because of lying being a no-no. Edit: saying that, I don’t know too much about Jesse/Dalton. Was never my forte.

Thats enough proof for me. I never believed he was JJ, and it does not help Brushy's credibility cause he hung around him. He must have been a great storyteller tough...

After reading through some of the footnotes I’m back to agreeing with ronnback because I did feel there were some confusing/contradicting parts in the article. According to one of the footnote articles (https://jessewjames.com/tag/james-e-starrs/) it was t Zerelda’s remains that were exhumed and compared to Jesse’s (alleged) remains. I’m still reading but off the bat that seems mad to not use his own mother’s remains.
Edit again: neither of these two articles I’ve just read are very favourable to Starrs who carried out the exhumation/testing. Other professors and historians don’t seem to be a fan either and I’m going to look into each of those names in opposition to Starrs for more context. What the one article picked up on was a lot of disapproval towards Starr for attempting to dig up Meriweather Lewis and claiming Lewis’s death wasn’t suicide.

This article provides absolutely no evidence. Its a text someone wrote and posted online, nothing more. Where is the evidence? Where is the dna lab results? I cant see any. There is a text talking about dna results from relatives of a person who they speculate may have been the same person as J Frank Dalton? This doesnt mean a god damn. First they would have to get J Frank Daltons dna, otherwise its completely worthless, right?

Your right on the lack of proof Ron, maybe its because Ive never believed Dalton. Compared to Brushy's story he aint even close

I’m still trying to detangle the line of thought in that article about J Frank Dalton being Dalton Sr - couldn’t make heads nor tails of it because they seemed to pick it up as a thread and then started talking solely about some other random people. I’m interested in knowing more about this Bud Dalton that was mentioned earlier though if someone can point me in that direction.

Yeah the article is a bit confusing. It never really explains the link to J Frank Dalton. Still interesting for sure. But Ive been leaning more and more towards the possibility Dalton was Jesse lately. Before I just figured most folks seem to think he was a fraud so there is no reason for me to believe anything else. But after reading some more I just couldnt find any hard evidence against the guy. Its fascinating he looks just like Jesse and that there is no early records of him also. No one seems to know where he came from. One other thing that I thought about is this. Probably some folks who are into Brushy figure they cant start believing in Dalton as well, cause they dont want to risk being viewed as less credible.

I sometimes go back to that story about Deluvina going mad at Pat saying about “you killed my boy” and I’m like, well, nobody said it had to be Billy the Kid. If Billy Barlow existed who’s to say he wasn’t her Billy.

Bud Dalton is a name that popped up once, stamped on a bucket, along with other gang members' names, that was dug up from a Jesse James treasure cache.
Could J Frank Dalton be this Bud Dalton?
Dalton having the rope scars on his neck, burnt feet, and same scar on his cheek as JJ does seem like extreme dedication to the lookeylikey business mind.

He’d have had to have a witness present at all times if he were doing these things to copycat JJ surely, for his safety alone. I couldn’t do any of that just to look like someone else/channel who was obviously an idol (if Dalton was a fraud), without someone there to save my neck of one of the injuries went wrong.

Hmmm seems there were two Jesse James. Jesse Robert James born 1846 and Jesse Woodson James born March 3, 1848.

Probably. It would certainly explain the results of the MTDNA test if Jesse Robert James say went to Kentucky with his father Robert, and fought on the Union side during the war, then out of jealously of his brother committed crimes in his name, such as the killing of John W. Sheets, mistaking him for Samuel Cox who Jesse would have never mistakenly misidentified. What's more odd is Sheets was a Jesse James supporter. As for the MTDNA, if Jesse Robert James was Charley Bigelow, then as you say that would explain the MTDNA results.
