I have studied Billy the Kid for hours over 2 days and have read all I could find online. Looking at the letters written by Billy (Billie) to Lew and comparing Brushy Bill's handwriting I have concluded that they are almost identical. Some of his lower case a's are open. Is upper case B is same. The way the words lean heavily to the right have convinced me Brushy Bill was Billy the Kid - no doubt. Along with Morrisons story and signed affidavits I am thoroughly convinced. Not to mention FBI photo comparisons along with Brushy Bills knowledge of history concerning the life of Billy the Kid. I also want to add that if Billy the kid was born in New York how could he be fluent in espanol? Being born in Texas makes more sense to me. If Hines was Jesse Evans which led to the discovery makes it all believable. After hours of research I have no reason to doubt Brushy Bill. I only wish I could have met him. But, I was born in 1954.

Welcome to the board berniesawyer, This is the receipt Billy the Kid gave Henry Hoyt in Tascosa for the horse to look at to help compare to Brushy’s also. I didn’t see it posted on the thread I thought I had posted it but I don’t see it.

Thanks for sharing that MissyS. I see numerous similarities with formation of individual letters to the two pages I posted at the beginning of this thread. Plus the overall slant of the letters is the same. Everyone's handwriting gets a bit sloppier with age as did BTK/Brushy. But there are many similarities. Then consider the spelling of Billie rather than Billy as shown earlier in this thread and I think this all becomes rather convincing.
