Can anyone tell me why buckshot Roberts was under warrant in the first place I never could find that out in any book or any meeting. I don’t show he rode in the Tunstall murder party someone fill me in pls

That's a good question, I wonderered that myself as to why the Regulators would want to arrest Buckshot , according to George Coe in his book " A Frontier Fighter", he pretty much wrote that Buckshot Roberts was after them as a Bounty Hunter, he wrote that the law in Lincoln offered up reward money I believe it was 100.00 or 200.00 Dead or Alive for each of any of the men responsible for the killing of Sheriff Brady, and Buckshot went to Lincoln and offered his service to go after them. Coe believed Buckshot was waiting for an opportunity to shoot as many of them as possible, and that the Regulators were warned by Blazer on arrival that Buckshot was on their trail and Coe said they watched for him to come up the trail, and he came shortly after their arrival, he offered no word of greeting, but crawled of his mule armed with two six shooters, a rifle, and a twelve inch belt full of cartridges, so he came prepared for a battle, he was on friendly terms with Frank Coe and while he spoke with him the others talked and decided that he was there for no good reason so to keep things from getting out of control and since Frank Coe didnt want to see him get killed they made the plan to sneak around to arrest him, but what I don't understand is what were they going to do after they arrested him? I believe that he was asked to give up his weapons and they wouldn't harm him, but he didnt trust them after the shooting of Morton and Baker. But if he wasn't wanted for anything or in on the killing of Tunstall where would they take him after arresting him? Coe wasn't clear on that. What's kinda interesting is Coe wrote that the Regulators were looking for an outlaw around or before that time that was stealing their horses and his name was George Davis, from other sources I'v read, I believe him to have been Jesse Evans brother? Coe's words were they planned to " Blow in on him and Blow him off the map".

Supposedly Buckshot was originally suspected as being part of the Tunstall murder posse, I don't have the source at the moment, and there was a warrant for him, and that is the only story I've heard about why they had a warrant for him. Most do not believe he was in the posse now. But that is what the warrant was for.  There was a 200 dollar bounty on each Regulator. Brushy says Buckshot was after them and I tend to believe Brushy's story. He may have been after a Regulator but Brushy didn't say that it was the reason he showed up to Blazer's, if I remember right, he only says Buckshot was after them in my opinion and it could be that Blazer's Mill was an accidental encounter. Some stories say he had just sold his property and was coming to pick up mail or a check. This would explain why his mule was so heavily weighed down, not uncommon to own many guns and little else. Or he may have been looking for a fight. I don't believe the Kid counted Buckshot's shots and waited until he was empty to rush him. Buckshot was an experienced warrior. Coe says he never seen anyone fire a Winchester so fast. I believe this because I saw on youtube where a guy fired an old one like it was a machine gun. Modified or not, it is possible. One of the Blazer's, maybe Dr. Blazer said Billy's guns were modified, one pistol had the trigger removed and another had the trigger tied back. Whether Buckshot was firing so fast he couldn't count his own shots wouldn't matter, it would be second nature to him. He wouldn't have let himself run out of bullets in such a crucial life or death situation. His mind would have counted them almost subconsciously. Planning his next move. I believe his gun jammed from firing so quickly. This guy was really tough. If they hadn't shot him through the belly without warning then the Regulator's may have suffered heavier casualties that day. I retraced their steps when I visited the location. Although my investigation was cut very short I found the window that I believe may have been the one he barricaded the mattress with. I guess some say it was the doorway. I wish I had more time there, but oh well. The house was lived in until about the 50's. The family and other experts around there know very little and most of what they know is absolutely incorrect. Most of the items in the house were still somewhat intact but there happened to be a skeleton of a  mattress next to the window where I believe him and Brewer exchanged shots. I stood it up next to the window and was lucky to get a decent photo with a pretty bad camera.  It is a beautiful shot of the sun beams shining through the springs of the mattress.  It says file is too big too post the pic.

I would love to see the pics of the mattress, awesome it would still be around, it maybe should be in a museum?, According to Coe the Regulators were having dinner when Buckshot arrived and after he was confronted Brewer asked the others which one of them wanted to volunteer to combat him, it doesn't sound like they prepaired to tangle with him, Im guessing the Young Guns movie had the part right that Buckshot was a bounty hunter and Brushy had it right also that he was after them. Surprisingly Coe wrote that they decided to go hunt George Davis, blow in on him and blow him off the map for stealing horses from them from time to time, after they concluded that they had nothing more important to do at that time, this was before the Blazer Mill fight. The Regulators could have easily avoided Buckshot, they could of rode out when Blazer warned them he may be coming, because they stayed is the reason of believing that they may of had a warrant for him, but sounds like they were looking for a horse thief before that, instead of any posse members that killed Tunstall? Maybe George Davis was also one of the men in that posse and Coe just didn't mention he was? Theres two pics of Blazers Mill in Coe's book I think taken in 1934 the building is leaning quite a bit on one pic of the building theres two lower windows and two upper windows, the other pic is probably the same building but opposite side? theres a lean to on one end, and two doors one door Blazer used as his office, I guess his dental office? and the door on the left of it is the one Buckshot went in when he was shot, it looks like a small door, there's no window on the door side?, so Im guessing the window is opposite?

You have no idea how badly I want to 3D map blazers mill. Measures, elevations and potentially a digital rebuild back to old for a mini view of just that aspect of LCW happenings.

Mescalero isn't in my opinion the place to take off with a potentially offensive noisy drone w no specific permission to fly.. so I just walked the normal parts for my film and w hopefully get BM mapping later on. I went to the police tribal station and asked and they nicely recommended I meet w the council first before flying, will do soon. See ruidosos news page, owner of BM is there after winning election, A Blazer, I hope can meet one day he'll be very busy man though

I have tons of unused stinking spring footage too for a more in depth forensic review one day including drone shots that line up with the claimed ss rock house picture, and we can confirm (or disconfirm, tbd ) the placement of the ridge in the picture to today's ridgeline. Talk about frozen in time

That's where I heard her first, that film. I met her this past July along with her daughter, Janean told me information she'd studied in person, highlight of my time. I showed her the fly in to Tunstall site on a huge iPad in HD and she was truly enthralled, what a time and place and experience to share in history, my goodness

I think the most appealing aspect of LCW studies is the accessibility of so many places and the people willing to help each other in the name of documentation, it's fascinating. From my armchair with only an iPad I was introduced to its lore after being a 25 yr young guns fan, and all the sites are only three hours from me hence a whole new adventure opened up each weekend. I got to chat with historians during preps, it was quite a fun challenge just locating some of those places.

That church fly through btw is a true hands off flight very slow and detailed through the doors without touching anything, very precision. Someone asked me if I carried it through in our drone forums and I scoffed at the notion lol

tidbit: Anywhere you check...online...books...videos, Janean's name is spelled differently. Not one single consistent source, what a challenge. I chose the spelling in my credits page from Nolan's book TWOBTK, figured that should be the best bet. His credits page(s) show rather intent sourcing I went with Janean.

Thank You for posting those videos, the Airial view reminded me of something I wondered if you ever heard of a peak in NM called or was called "Outlaw Rock"? I thought you may be interested in doing a video about it or including it in another Airial video? I thought it interesting to post regardless. The story goes that the Kid, Dave Rudabaugh, Tom OFolliard, and at sometime Kinney were all hiding out in that peak and it was discovered awhile back that their initials and names were carved in that rock peak and interestingly , Dave's initial has a star and a "D R " OFolliard's initial is "OFF" both the name of "Kid" and Bonney" and "Kinny" as well, I wondered if the names can still be seen today?, maybe a drone can locate them without climbing? and maybe more can be discovered? I found photos of these but they aren't too clear, I will try to post them.
