Does anyone know if such a book was ever published written by Lew Wallace? The article isn't written by Wallace himself and it contains many glaring inaccuracies so I'm wondering how much of that information actually came from Wallace. Some interesting points included:
1) Billy had Gray eyes as opposed to many reports they were blue (Brushy's eye's were gray) 2) Garrett saw Billy before he entered Maxwell's room and went in ahead of him and hid behind the bed. 3) There were three shots fired in Maxwell's room, one by Billy that missed and two by Garrett that both found there mark. 4) Billy escaped Lincoln by hitting Bell over the head when he leaned over (just as Brushy described). Oh, and he killed eight more deputies that day who were all suppose to be guarding him. (LOL) 5) Billy is buried in Las Cruces?? (LOL again) 4) Wallace admitted himself that he had promised Billy a pardon. Did anyone point this out to Gov. Richardson recently?
If Wallace really wrote all that, then he was quite the liar.

Here's the other side comparison--Pat Garrett was either mistaken, or behind a conspiracy and coverup. Attachments:

I actually do not like typing and it is worth the time and typing to tell somebody that. The greatest book to show that Wallace was a liar is Gale Cooper's book Billy the Kid's Writings, Words, and Wits. It is a 'must-have' for any Billy researcher. It also gives you a better picture into the mind of Billy and the corrupt minds of politicians that spread rumors about him. It is a different look at the Kid and probably the truest one out there if you want to know the Kid.
