I was wondering if this guy, William Watkins, could possibly be the same one Brushy referred to as "Mountain Bill". Some of the details about him suggests it could be him. He was a pioneer of the Chickasaw nation. He passed in Ardmore Oklahoma in 1894, just like Brushy said Mountain Bill did. His sister's husband was from Arkansas, Brushy said his sister was living in Arkansas. In the 1880 census William Watkins lived in Mountain, Polk, Arkansas. Maybe from there he got the nickname "Mountain Bill"? sv.findagrave.com/memorial/68647139/william-rankin-watkins

Dibble is 78 miles from Ardmore. Brushy also lived in Mena Arkansas with Mollie Brown, which is 19 miles from Mountain Arkansas. Perhaps county history books on Polk would shed light on Mr Watkins. Jesus Christ Almighty God bless you all
