Hello to all interested in Billy The Kid and the Old West. Talk about the outlaws and lawmen, the weapons, the towns, or anything related. I created this board because I believe there should be a place to discuss the Old West and particularly Billy The Kid, where everyone's opinions are respected and encouraged regardless and no one will be made to feel unwelcome. Even if they should happen to disagree with me about some things. I want everyone involved and no Old West subject will be discouraged. Yes, I believe, truly believe that Brushy Bill Roberts really was Billy The Kid. But I will never belittle or attempt to run off posters who disagree. Feel free to discuss the other noted claimant John Miller as well. Just remember to be polite and respectful with your comments. I will monitor this board daily and will immediately delete any offending messages and send a note to the poster explaining why. It should not be necessary to "ban" anyone from the board so long as the monitoring is done with a consistent, fair and unbiased approach.
So! Enjoy this new board and come back often.
Your Host, Wayne Land

Congradulations Wayne!!! It's about time. The "Real History" needs to be documented and great historians must know the facts before they rehase tales. Curly Bill Graham

Congratulations to you on becoming the first member of the board. I hope you'll visit often and help pass the word. I've spent 12 years studying the Brushy Bill story and I truly and fully believe he was telling the truth. I welcome comments and discussion from those who do not and look forward to a healthy, civil, logical discussion of what we really know and don't know that just might help lead to something good and productive.
Hey Wayne Glad to see you again. I hope this board goes over better than mine did. As long as folks don't start lying about it like they did mine it might just go over well.

Thanks cowboy! Maybe our two boards will both do better having more than one place to talk? BTW, did you ever have a chance to make that trip to visit Melinda Allison's family? I kept checking by to see if you had posted anything. Good luck to you moving forward. I don't know if this board will attract a great many participants or not but it is hosted by a different system and maybe that will help get folks attention. People need to know the truth or at least a meaningful dialog needs to take place.

Thanks Curly Bill! I'm very pleased there are several members already. This could turn out to be a whole lot'a fun! And just maybe something new and positive will come out of it.
I've had to put all i was doing on hold for awhile. My wife hasn't been doing to well for quite some time so I have not been able to do much of what i had planed to do. I have been looking over that layout of fort Sumner and I think I have located where there actually was an ice house built with the old army fort. I had been trying to get some kind conformation, but haven't been able to do so yet.

Sorry to hear your wife has been under the weather. I hope all will be well with her. I probably owe it to you at this point to explain why I was so interested in those blue prints in the first place. I had promised a friend not to share this, but since the theory has since been pretty well proven wrong, I guess it's OK now. It was pretty intriguing at the time. There's a house in Fort Sumner that some locals insist is the house where Billy was killed and yet it is not located where the old army surveys and such say it was. It's still standing!!! There's no second floor anymore but there's some evidence there may have been one at one time. And part of the original house is missing and has been rebuilt differently. At least that was the theory at the time. I was interested in the blue prints to try and determine if the structure's dimensions were true to the actual Maxwell house. I have since been satisfied that it is not Maxwell's house but actually was built sometime later by Manuel Abreu. But if you're ever in Fort Sumner, it is a really awesome place to visit. Here's a photo of me standing about where the gate would have been.
can't find an appropriate place for my post. so, I'll just post it here. =) I was wondering what everyone thought of the "newly discovered" photo of Billy (allegedly) with Doc Holliday, Jesse James, and Charlie Bowdre. theellisoncollection.com/gallery.php?gid=85 while it definitely looks like C.Bowdre, I'm not sure about the others at all... I mean....maybe. anyway, I couldn't find a mention of this anywhere on this forum and wanted to know what people thought of it. enjoy !
i have been back & forth with the pics owners & pointed out to them the heights of the people prove their not who they say they are. but they want to beleive so no amount of fact will change that
