I see a possible correlation in Jesus Silva’s interview where he mentions Billy the Kid telling him that he and Billy Wilson made a pact or swore to stay around to kill Barney Mason and Billy told him he was staying to do that. And it’s interesting that Brushy also mentions Barney Mason in the Lost Interviews on page 101, Brushy stated that he stayed around Fort Sumner for two and a half months before the fight with Garrett’s posse. Brushy said he would not leave until he had killed Chisum, Barney Mason, and Garrett. He also mentions Barney Mason rustled with them until Garrett was elected and he was run off when he started squealing to Garrett. With Jesus Silva saying Billy told him he stayed around Fort Sumner to kill Barney Mason and Brushy also saying he stuck around Fort Sumner for two and a half months seems to collaborate each others statements. Jesus Silva’s interview was around 1936 and it looks like it was written in the Roswell Daily Record. I don’t know if the interview by Jesus Silva was printed anywhere else in 1936 or if Brushy would have had to have been in Roswell to pick up a Roswell paper to read that interview, or if this tidbit of information about Barney Mason was ever printed in a book for Brushy to know Billy told Jesus that or not? It’s another interesting statement by Brushy that seems to be backed up by a statement of a person that knew Billy the Kid. www.rdrnews.com/arts_and_entertainment/vision/historically-speaking-the-night-billy-the-kid-was-killed-an-eyewitness-account/article_115605dc-7007-548d-9c98-f94e6cf1249b.html

Correction, It looks like that article was written in The Amarillo Daily News, Texas, dated Friday Morning, Nov. 13, 1936. I don’t know if that article was easily found however?
