Why would a dime book get the idea to print a story about Billy the Kid From Texas? I stumbled across this interesting dime book on the Nickles and Dimes, Collections of Johannesburg and Leblanc site. This rare little gem with the awesome artwork from Beadle’s Pocket Library, published in 1890, No 321 and Vol XXV is titled “Billy the Kid from Frisco” Chapter one is Billy the Kid from Texas. I understand it’s just a fictional story but the title is interesting, and makes me wonder where the idea of the title came from? It looks to have been published in New York where the Kid was popularly believed to have been from. dimenovels.lib.niu.edu/islandora/object/dimenovels%3A225010#page/1/mode/1up
