I came across this website (linked: wildwestoutlaws.wordpress.com/billy-the-kid-and-outlaws/) and wanted to know what everyone else thinks about the alleged photo shown. I have scrolled through all of the threads in this section and haven’t found this one specifically but if I’ve missed it just let me know! (Not sure how to add the actual image into this post.) There are three images in a row with dates, and it’s the middle one where he looks very blond in my opinion (1879-1880).

I like the first picture 77-78 because he looks like the picture of Billy Cramer that someone posted on this forum. Someone said Billy Cramer was one of Brushy’s name's he used when riding in rodeo's.

Looks like findagrave has allowed the following link to connect to Billy the Kid's supposed father: www.findagrave.com/memorial/3195132/patrick-henry-mccartyPatrick Henry McCarty (1805-1865), buried in Nashville, Tennessee.

What does the green writing say? The best I can make out is “Latin cross” and something about serviceable maybe?

Some information posted on findagrave is accurate. This is not. The indicated relationship to Billy the Kid and Catherine Antrim appears to be a WAG. The only documentation included shows the death date of Patrick McCarty and burial location, and service in the Union Army is implied.

The man does have similarities to BTK and Telsfor side by side and the man next to him in the full photo does look to have similarities to Higinio, I’m not sure about the third man in the full photo as looking close to Charlie Bowdre? Very interesting photo collection and informative site. I have seen that full length photo of the Billy Cramer identified as Billy the Kid before also on a book cover of a Billy the Kid book ,more likely a mistaken identity.
