Anyone has an opinion? Is it worth to get? Ive read the 25 pages that are free on google. I must say I feel hesitant about it. The feeling I got was it may be complete bogus. However first impressions can be wrong and I was kind of tired when reading.

I liked it pretty much, its incomplete but apparently another book is coming out in the near future, according ro TTT census report it matches with the family being there at the time Brushy told is story so it might be authentic. People dont seem to take the book seriously but I do.

However first impressions can be wrong and I was kind of tired when reading. The name of his grandfather was Louis Bolieu, not Lewis, in the 1910, 1920, 1930, and 1940 census; SSDI index; WWI and WWII draft registrations; and Find a Grave memorial #177741656 for Louis Napolean Bolieu. His grandmother's maiden name was Sherman.
All records show Texas as the birthplace of Louis Napolean Bolieu 29 August 1884. Chapter 3, first paragraph: "It was the spring of 1909. Our families had only moved to the United States two years before."
Don't waste your money.

If someone who is against Brushy Bill Robert's says don't waste your money then I reckon the book must be pretty good. I might buy it right now.

TTT, what genealogy info can you dig up on Lilly and Jim Elmsley?
Lilly was the author's great aunt and apparently involved in the source material.
All adds to the pot

My impression from those free 25 pages is that it kind of feels like a made up story. I know I could be wrong of course, but just seems made up to me. Billy kid came walking through a field with a gunshot wound in 1909, my grandfather took care of him. He was in a fever and started rambling stuff like "Can mr Maxwell ask Deluvina to bring me herb-tea".. Im sorry but I feel this is bogus! Truth can be stranger than fiction but this seem to me like badly scripted fiction. But I know I may be wrong and I have no proof either way.

I hear ya, they must have spiced it up a bit but it has a source, its not the greatest book out there but any Brushy fan will enjoy it. If its bogus well its for all for us to judge if it is.

His wife was Sarah Lillie Stewart Emsley, born 2 March 1872 FAG memorial #43118090 in Texas. Census records do not indicate any children. James was a laborer at Kelly Field in 1920. He is listed on the same census page as the family of Louis Bolieu, a farmer with 7 children, including Hall (Harold).

In this book there's at least 2 occasions when 'Billy' had to flee having lost his horse, saddle and everything else. Not sure where the notorious family bible was at these times...
.....unless the rumours of Brushy / Billy having his own secret place in San Patricio are true.

He might have retrieved it from a relative at a later time frame could be a possibility? Anyway, im pretty skeptical about this book. Im open to discussion of course, but I also feel that its utterly important to recognize a fake bogus claim for what it is. Even though the claim appears to be working for "your side of things". If it is bogus you'll get dragged into meaningless stuff that takes up your time and diverts you from finding out the truth.

The info about Tunstall sending wagons to get supplies for his new store and them being bushwhacked by Jesse Evans and his gang on their way back to Lincoln was interesting, amongst other things.
I too will buy the next book, even just for a good read.
