If any member of this forum laughs at this photo and says there's absolutely no way it could be Billy the kid then I think there's a good chance it IS Billy the kid.
I do like this photo so it's a Definitely Maybe from me.

I wish the authentic Billy kid photo wasn't such an ugly photo. All these new Artificially enhanced versions just enhance the ugliness worse than it should.
I reckon he was a good looking guy and that's why all the alleged photos are rejected because we are comparing them to something truly horrendous.
Some of my favourite photos are the least popular ones.

Although that photo of that alleged Billy was believed to have come from Sallie Chisum’s photo album, and it very well could have along with photos of her, her family and many Regulators, however it could be someone else other than Billy, maybe another Regulator?, on that same link on that chat thread on pg 3, a poster had posted a couple of Ab Saunders photos that sold at auction, and it was suggested the alleged Billy could be Ab Saunders?, and looking closely there is similarities. The owner of the alleged Billy photo also posted another photo that was found in the lot that he believes could be Billy also, and that photo is on that same chat thread too, and it has possibilities as well.

I originally didn't think much of the pic of the alleged Billy with the cigar but he's wearing the same sweater as Billy in the famous tintype.
Definitely him I reckon.

And visually comparing the other alleged Billy the Kid owned by the same person and pictured on that same chat link to the one with the cigar there is also a little bit of similarity.  |
