Should I clarify, the tree gun is a .44. not 45 as Bells was a .45. No matter what we think of Garrett his cheap butt is not going to state different, or we’d have wagons of guns gone missing, if not for town. His recording of Ollingers shotgun proves this. He not only lists is damages as worthless to the county, he furthers this with the man’s personal not county issued weapons serial number. (Why didn’t Mrs Oliver her the worthless piece back?)
People state that Billy used lower caliber guns due to hand size and forget one thing, women hold them just as well. It’s crazy to say different with the names we know of less stature in history, dare I say a certain woman who while not a cowgirl per day sat with Wild Bill? ). Also it’s hard to argue an armory inventory, Which the Kid invades, many an eyewitness and a sheriff attest to that.
What also many forget is Billy used no file. He’d been in town till Garret reappeared. Then we’d truly learn if a dead sheriff equals no life sentence. A farce holly weird leads many to believe. Honestly a warrant only needs be issued. If another copy needed, a visit to reinstate.
And the let’s not forget the manner in which Billy kills Bell. Groundskeeper be damned, Bells dead and done, and Billy’s with a .45 wrong according to Garret he found a .45, yet claims Billy has a ,45 from the privy both now equal a problem.. If Billy held a .45 before killing Belle, why not grab Belles gun giving him 2 .45’s. Yet Garrets swears to what? A single 1873 , and a pair of .44s. Through his own garbage he writes and attests to the .44’s. but at the end decides a ,41 is what the kid dies with… Either way:
The 44 that is not left in a tree has never been recovered. Billy supposedly dies, yet no tooth taker ever reported it’s serial number to this day in their possession. Hmmm, it’s odd that Garrett logs serials but this one were told holds none….
Wagon loads of photos, wanted posters with and without pictures, testimony to what he did, where he dies, and other bs history, but a man who reports inventories, and has attested to the then New Mexican citizens, what’s taken, by serial numbers and all… sits no sencond .44?
Yep I need another round, hope Garrett’s up to buying.
