I would like to ask why Morrison would have identified Joe Hines as Jesse Evans if he thought he was someone else. I have read that he may have done that to cover the fact that Joe Hines was Campbell. Why would he use someone's name who might still be alive as Jesse Evans might have been. Would that not have been a little unfair and was not Mr. Morrison more honest than that? I still would like to know where Mr. Morrison's original notes are. Are they in the Missouri History Museum as Thain has suggested? Has anyone ever found when and where Joe Hines died and the place of his burial. Also, where was the will of his brother probated? Better yest, where can I read the will? It seems that Morrison's original notes could answer these questions. Also, I read somewhere that Pat Garrett's grandson said that his grandfather did not kill Billy the Kid. Please let me know where I could research for answers to my questions.

I never heard anything about Pat's grandson saying he didn't kill Billy but I heard about his daughter saying that but I have been lead to believe that at the time she said that she was already passed away, so I don't pay much attention to it. His son Jarvis certainly did not say that when he wrote the forward to his father's book and he does mention Brushy. Also, I'm not suggesting where Morrison's notes are... They're there, I've already called and I'll be looking at them soon. Hopefully there will be info on Joe Hines who I think was Jesse Evans and William Campbell. After readings of events it always seemed that either one or the other was mentioned so I always wondered how one was there and not the other and visa versa. Some newer ones add them both in but usually inside of parentheses. Texas Prison recognized Hines as Evans but because of his brother I think he was Campbell and in some way his identity was protected.
