I have a couple of more questions. Is it not true that Paulita Maxwell's mother, Luz Beaubien Maxwell, thought highly of Billy The Kid? If she had survived perhaps circumstances would have been different for Paulita and Billy. Also, in searching the census why are there such discrepancies in the birthdate of Paulita's daughter? It has dates of 1884, 1885 and her death record shows her death in 1961 and her birth 25 Jan 1882? Also, it seems that Billy was fond of Spanish women. Did he ever marry one or did he ever state his fondness for anyone in New Mexico?

Henry Hoyt claims Billy said he had a girl named Senorita Lolita which some suggest may have been Paulita. Paulita denied being the Kid's sweetheart and says Celsa Gutierrez was. Sallie Chisum says Willie Bonney gave her a candy heart. Brushy said he was in love with a girl, last name Sedillo and this convinced a member of the family that he was the Kid. And he names Celsa and Yerby as sweethearts.

I know this is a kinda old thread, I didn't think I should make a new thread if the topic has been discussed before about Billy's sweetheart, I had just read the book "My Girlhood Among Outlaws" by Lily Klasner, she wrote about Bob Ollinger visiting her family and before Billy shot him he visited her home, Lily recalled a Mexican girl came to her home after she heard Ollinger was visiting there, she came to see him to ask him if she should marry Billy if he got freed, she explained that in Old Mexico marrying could save a life, and she wanted to know if the law was the same in the territory?, Ollinger through an interpreter told her that was not the case in the territory and marrying Billy would not save his life. Lily did not reveal the Mexican girl's name, maybe to protect her? If Paulita spoke english then the girl may not have been her because this Mexican girl needed an interpreter so I wonder who she was?

I think Billy was like a sailor with a girl in every port.
