Just finishing up Jeff guinns (going down together) the true and untold story of Bonnie and Clyde. Interesting note they were in hico tx at one point during their flights from the law so in theory if brushy truly was billy then for a brief moment in time (though unknown) Clyde barrow was in the same place and same time as his hero billy the kid. Entertaining thought to ponder it mentions several time in the book how barrow idolized the kid ad a boy as well As when he was an outlaw himself. Highly recomend the book

I am interested in that time period as well. Bonnie and Clyde. I found in my researching them also, up until 1967 movie Bonnie & Clyde they were known as Clyde & Bonnie. It is a classic love story of 2 people on the wrong side of the law. How they dressed during that time period, always dressed in fine suits and dresses. Just thinking of their last ride that beautiful morning of May 23, 1934 and how it all went down. Interesting.

I have to apologize that I really don't remember where or when, but sometime back (years ago) someone posted on another board regarding Brushy allegedly claiming to have met Bonnie & Clyde. That's all I've got though. Sorry!

Bonnie and Clyde were reading Saga of Billy the Kid. I believe it was in their possession when they were killed.

Highly recomend the book I know this is an older thread but I found a poem recently that was said to have been written by Bonnie Parker, and it's interesting that she wrote it about Billy the Kid meeting Clyde Barrow. If Bonnie & Clyde were in Hico then it may be possible they met Brushy Bill and that meeting may have inspired Bonnie to write the poem? allpoetry.com/Outlaws----Billy-the-Kid-and-Clyde-Barrow

I found a page online that said it was showing certain things that were actually taken from the car and it showed the book. It doesn’t say that about all the other items so maybe it is the actual book from their car. “Saga of Billy the Kid”. I only looked it up because I saw another book library stamped Amarillo and it looked like it had blood stains. And them two went through Amarillo.

There’s a link that mentions a traditional story that Clyde Barrow used to visit a supposed resident in Hico that may have been related and would hide in furniture store caskets from the law. So it may be possible Brushy did run into Bonnie and Clyde in town On bottom of page texascooppower.com/happy-in-hico/
