I just read a new book by Daniel Edwards called "Billy The Kid, An Autobiography". This is an excellent retelling of the Brushy story as originally appeared in Morrison's book but with lots and lots of new information never before published (as far as I know anyway). I don't want to divulge too much, but there are some powerful revelations here, and a fresh new analytical approach to the story. It's available at Amazon. Just click the link shown below the image. Hey all! I am glad to see discussions are going strong in 2015. I enjoy this site a lot! 44colt I am interested in purchasing your book. The reviews on Amazon are praising it. I wanted to ask you does the book contain new evidence and new photos? Was curious because I have 2 books by W.C Jameson (Return of the outlaw Billy the kid, Billy the kid Beyond the grave) and they are well researched but they are about the same book pretty much.

I'm going to chime in here on behalf of 44colt. I hope he doesn't mind. I was very impressed with his book for two reasons. First, he discusses much of the same info we've all read before in books but approaches it in a very explanatory and objective way that I think helps to shed more light on all that stuff. Secondly, and very importantly, he reveals leads he has discovered for other aliases Brushy may have used and shows very strong evidence to support those leads for various activities Brushy claimed he experienced after 1881. Many of these, including the time with the Rough Riders have been the subject of ridicule by the naysayers and this book presents some strong evidence to support some of those activities' authenticity. So, yes, there is new information but, rightfully so, he does try to tell the whole story for the reader who is approaching Brushy's saga for the first time. For those who've read all that before though, I think you'll enjoy his common sense approach to it all.

I really enjoyed the part about Billy the Kid alias John S. Murphy who lived in San Patricio. p.s. Billy the Kid wrote at least 2 letters in which he stated the return address was San Patricio. On one of the letters before those he did not give a return address but it is believed he was in San Patricio.
