Thanks Wayne,
I already had found Elbert Dewitt Travis, both the father and son. I have not see the Henry Roberts in the Mississippi 3rd MS Inf. but I don't think that he fit's with Brushy's story. He states that He was born in Kentucky, Fought in the Civil War in the Southern Army, under Roos, until 1863 and then joined Quantrill.
I have a lot of informaion on Ola Everhard, Dewitt Travis and J. Frank Dalton. It would be good if you can ever get the whole book open however.
Have you ever heard of John James?(I think his name was William John James) Look for him as Jesse James.
Thanks for the information. If you can tie the Henry Roberts for Mississippi, let me know.

I believe Brett H. Hall told me that Hines told Morrison where to find Brushy but didn't want to be involved so they used Dalton's name, or something like that. I can't get into my old email or I would post the explanation otherwise. Brett Hall is my favorite guy on Brushy Bill stuff. It seems like Brushy never said Dalton was James. I'm sorry I don't remember this stuff very well. Brett H. Hall knows. He was left all the documents on Brushy from Morrison and William Tunstill. I spoke with him a year ago and he said most all of it has been published, but I spoke with him years before and remember a quite different story, ( sorry Brett) I believe he told me Mr. Valdez has most of it now. All I can say is ... I couldn't solve the mystery, but there is still new information that can be found!!! and really ...I think it can be done still and I think it probably will.

p.s. I read in a Jesse James book that the first anyone ever heard of Jesse James having a missing finger tip came from the 1882 autopsy which means anyone saying "look i have a missing finger tip so i must be J. James" would be .... suspicious.

In the Alias Billy the Kid book they mention an Elizabeth Ferguson. We should be looking for her and not Sara E. Ferguson. Right or wrong?
