What's interesting is in a 1920 census, the birth date given to Oliver Roberts is 1861.

I have a copy of a Rough Riders roster that I believe I downloaded from a Washington D.C. website listing a William J Roberts in Troop L. Also, In Jamesons book "Digging up Billy the Kid" on page 45 he says that While working for the Anti Horsethief Assn, a deputy had killed a man whom Brushy Bill recognized as a relative of his named Oliver L Roberts. He also said he collected the mans belongings and used this name more often than others as one of his aliases. I cant locate my reference, but it seems to me he also said that Ollie P Roberts died in Oklahoma and so he also used that alias. Just my 2 cents.

What's interesting is in a 1920 census, the birth date given to Oliver Roberts is 1861. A couple of interesting census: Wm. Bonny, Fort Sumner, New Mexico - 1880. William McCarty, Chavis, New Mexico - 1910
