Brushy is seen on the far right at age 16. The other people in the photo are members of his family. Brushy’s real father (Henry Oliver Roberts) is at the top left and his real mother (Sara Elizabeth Ferguson Roberts) is in front of Henry Oliver. This photo was released by Brushy’s own great-great nephew to discredit Brushy by showing he is liar. It doesn’t get more credible that because surely he would have loved Brushy ( a member of his family) to have been the legendary outlaw.

That's not Brushy on the pic , maybe Oliver P. Roberts. Bottom line: Brushy and Oliver were two different fellows.

The boy on the right looks like he is about 10 years old, so its probably not Oliver Pleasant if the photo was taken in 1895. More likely it could be Thomas Ulysses Roberts who would be 11 at the time. We can only deduct among the others are several of the siblings: Andrew 18, Cordelia 17, Oliver Pleasant 16, Samantha 24, Martha 21, Joseph 0. The other small children may belong to Samantha and Martha?

This photo has been up for debate previously on the board, anyone remember where that thread is located?

Not stating one way or t'other but that lad is older than 10, my boys is 10 and the lad on the pic is plainly a few years older than him and all his pals.

Why was brushy's name put on land registry documents as Oliver pleasant Roberts?

Why was brushy's name put on land registry documents as Oliver pleasant Roberts? Because he was a man named Bill pretending to be someone else. Or he was a man named Oliver who had a strange habit of calling himself Bill.

There was an interesting group photo posted awhile back by poster clydec, it was a photo given to him by the Great Nephew of Martile Able, it was taken in 1902, it shown a man sitting in the group identified as Billy the Kid. That Billy in clydec’s photo he posted looks older than the supposed 16 year old Brushy in this photo taken in 1895, but to me I believe there looks to have some visual similarities? Here is the link to clydec’s post or thread brushybill.proboards.com/thread/679/billy-photo-1902

The photo from 1895 is of such poor quality its hard to determine what the boy's facial features really are. I do get your feeling though, he could pass for the same person a few years apart. But that can not be stated with any level of certainty to even matter, in my opinion.

I don’t know but wasn’t short pants more of a style for boys more so than teens?

I'd love to know the provenance on this photo and who identified the people in it because I seriously question whether the boy on the far right is Oliver P. When I was 16 I had just reached my full adult height as many boys do around that age. I would be more inclined to think the second from the left on the back row might be Oliver P. and the boy on the right is his 11 year old brother. Brushy, of course, is not in the photo. He would have been in his mid 30's in 1895.

That boy and the girl beside him are both way too short to be 16 years of age. Judging their height in comparison with the woman sitting next to them, they cant be more than 4 feet high. So if they are 16 they are both midgets.
