Can anyone tell me, what new evidence has been brought forward supporting Brushy's claim since his death, and the publishing of "Alias Billy the Kid".?? If any solid evidence proving Brushy was Billy existed, it would have come out in the almost 70 years since his death. Most of the books written since have used the same information, with very few variations. This is somewhat hypocritical since, the authors who support Brushy's claim, accuse historians of doing no new research, and just reprinting the lies told about Billy's life. I have read most of the books written supporting Brushy, I have found any information that matches Brushy's claim is accepted as good research, but information that doesn't is brushed off as repeating a myth or outright lie to preserve the status quo. What motive would historians have to preserve a lie??. They have no stake in whether New Mexico, or Hico gets to claim Billy as their own.

Evidence If hearsay and stories are evidence, an abundance of information about Brushy has been found. If you are asking if any record or credible evidence about Brushy Bill has been found that supports his story, the answer is none. If you are asking if any proof has been found that Brushy Bill and Oliver P Roberts were 2 different men, the answer is no. If you are asking if any proof has been found that Pat Garrett failed to kill Billy the Kid, the answer is no.
