It is said that Brushy Bill was very reluctant to go inside the courthouse in Lincoln and even shed tears before Morrison convinced him to go in. Why would an old man from Arkansas get so emotional about that place?
I don't think Brushy's demeanor in the courthouse points
either way -- toward evidence for or evidence against. Way too much has been made of
this by far too many people. Considering he was visiting a historical place, it is understandable he might be upset about it. It's rare, but people can cry visiting a place where history happened. Or perhaps, maybe presuming he was a fraud and he knew it, he felt a bit guilty stealing the role of a person who he claimed to be.
