Is it true as stated in True West Magazine that Jim Miller was trying to buy Pat Garrett's ranch? Did he possibly kill him and if so who might have hired him?

It is awesome a woman found the original coroner's report at the archives in Santa Fe about 3 months ago. Of course it stated Wayne Brazel shot Pat Garrett! Very interesting they finally found the actual document.

I believe it was Todd Bailey who shot Garrett. His own Grandson said it was so. Wayne Brazel was just the fall guy.

This killing was truly tragic and sad....it seemed to be a conspiracy of some kind but had all the hallmarks of Jim Miller- the client taking responsibility for the killing and claiming self defence while Miller on a fast horse - put as much distance as he could between him and the murder site as an alibi...Miller was reportedly seen on the back trail and the cold blooded way Pat was shot - twice. The trial and aquittal were unseemly quick and Pat Garrett' murder deserved a more just examination by the Law he had served.

This question is gravy to my soul. Garrett's murder follows the blueprint of Deacon/Killer Miller's proffesional hits. Miller kills. Then his client claims responsibility. Of course claiming self defense. This technique was a magic charm for Miller. Miller's death was by lynching. At his necktie party he confessed to several killings. Pat Garrett was on his list. Then he urged the lynching be completed and kicked off his step. It astounds me that historians are reluctant to revise the official story in the light of evidence.

What motive would Deacon/ Killer Miller have to kill Pat Garrett? Was it a land dispute? It seems there may be a connection; Miller was said to have had a family connection to the Clements and John Wesley Hardin, I think he was married to a daughter of a cousin of John Wesley Hardin? if it’s true there was a family connection to the Clements, then does that mean he may also have had a family connection to Billy Barlow? Brushy said Barlow was possibly related to the Clements. This may be a crazy thought but if it was Deacon/ Killer Miller, could his motive have been revenge for Billy Barlow?

Miller was rumored to be involved in some sort of transaction that included Garrett's land( or cattle cant remember exactly), of course the transaction never took place. And he was seen not too far from where Garrett was shot...
