I can see a resemblance with some of the other people for know BTK acquaintences but I just don't see much of one with this one and Billy. The eyebrows are not the same nor the hands. This one's hands, especially fingers are to skinny and the thumb is not shaped the same. Brushy's owever match perfectly with the known BTK photo. So do his eyebrows

Dear Montanas, Thank you for your honest opinion concerning my "Billy" tintype photo. I asked for thoughts, comments, and opinions, and when I didn't hear what I was hoping for, I was disappointed. I have always believed these are BTK acquaintances, and Billy himself. The sole reason for posting these tintypes was to see what other people thought. I need the feedback to help me with making the decision to pursue the Genealogy further. Which will cost money. Thanks again, sorry this is so late.

I've been told what is in his pocket is of great importance to him, and may be a deed, business contract or immigration/citizenship papers. They said if it were a handkerchief it would be neatly folded. Maybe an arrest warrant or writ of attachment? lol

Update on photos/tintypes I have received much needed help with the Genealogy of the couple who owned these tintypes. The Doctor from Tecumcari is incorrect. I made a mistake while researching the family's ancestry, and for that I apologize.

Hello Everyone,
I'd like to share my poem with you about Billy The Kid
Billy
Mother taken by sickness Father abandoned him young Cahill beat him for the last time Fourteen and on the run
Locked up behind bars Tunstall took him in Said come work for me Billy answered with a grin
Whoever it was That killed John that day Struck a cord with Billy Swore he'd make em pay
With Billy by their side They would answer the call Their Regulators now One by one they'd fall
Men feared him locals loved him He was the fastest draw He would dance and sing And shoot his gun All while hiding from the law
Killed two guards He wasn't going to hang Not afraid to die He escaped once again
He lived loved and rode hard Tried to make things right In Pete's room he breathed his last On a moonlit July night
ALTERNATE ENDING
That day they thought he breathed his last Billy left on a moonlit July night
I am going to post a scan of my Billy tintype and I realize it isn't very good. This is the same photo as the previous tintype. I feel the scan shows his lips better. I read somewhere Billy had full lips if you look close, they are. I hope you enjoyed the poem!

wildblue, I can see the teeth better in that last photo you posted and it does look like there's missing teeth or a tooth or crooked teeth? looks like a gap anyway, have you had the photo compared?, the mouth comparison to Billy's famous tintype would be interesting to see if the teeth line up.

Here is a closer view of his mouth (photo on the right), and a photo of someone approximately the same age. There is a lot of pitting in my tintype. Could be you see that thinking it's a tooth showing. His mouth is completely closed. For an expert to give their opinion or come to a conclusion, they must see the original tintype photo/photos in person, and that hasn't been done.

I have known and met personally with strangers as well as family and friends and they all have a chin and mouth and nose. But I am certain that none of them are Billy the Kid.

Wildblue, Too bad that tintype is so pitted you call it, it's hard to tell alot, I believe there may be a way to clean up a clouded rough image somewhat?, I seen it done on old photos, and on the famous Billy tintype, there's an extreme photoshop reconstruction of Billy's tintype online and color added and interesting at the end how clear and different he looks in it?

I enjoyed the poem. Some of the photos have a resemblance, but I don't believe the one looks like the kid.

Ericbruce,
I am glad to hear you enjoyed my poem, thank you! I appreciate your opinion, that you don't feel the tintype looks like Billy. The pictures may very well be distant relatives of the couple whose Estate Sale I purchased them at. With that being said, I feel there are many similarities to the Kid. I listed them in a previous post. Blue eyes, sloped shoulders, pinky ring, adams apple, etc... I would like to add another important similarity. Dr. Hoyt who knew Billy, described his appearance. Have you read it?
In his description he said Billy had an aquiline nose. The word aquiline means curved, and in my tintype of possibly Billy The Kid, his nose is definitely curved. I tried to clean up the tintype using my home computer. I will post a photo of it. While removing the blemishes from the photo it distorted his mouth a lot, and also the shape of his face. I enjoy looking all the photos people say are of Billy. It is fun to study them and ponder whether you think it's really him.

Wildblue, I haven't read much on the kid since I was probably 11 or 12 years old. I'm 33 now, so I have a lot of catching up to do. I also enjoy looking at the photos that folks suspect are the kid. I've always had a love for the era, and became somewhat obsessed with WWII history. The Wild west has taken a back seat as of late. I watched Young Guns I and II the other day, and it spiked my interest again. I look forward to being around the forums, I've spent most of the day reading everything. Such an interesting and friendly place so far. It's rather refreshing compared to some forums with the keyboard commando types who are hunkered down in mom's basement.

Hello Everyone,
I have some exciting news to share with you. I recently hired a Professional Forensic Artist to compare my tintypes, and she said Sheriff William Brady and my tintype are a positive match.
