I have recently learned by looking at the footnotes in several BTK, and Lincoln County War books that many quotations came from interviews conducted by author J. Evetts Haley. In 1927 , Haley interviewed Susan McSween, Jake Owen, Frank Coe, Yginio Salazar , George Coe. etc. These interviews are available at the Haley Museum in Midland, Tx , I believe. This could be an incredible source of information, particularly information that could seem meaningless but could validate ( or invalidate ) some of Brushy's claims. Particularly of interest would be what Salazar had to say in 1927 vs what was stated on his affidavit in 1950. As I mentioned in another thread, Haley's books on Charles Goodnight and Chester Littlefield both contain first hand accounts of encounters with BTK, and its interesting to note that neither man had any trouble with Billy.
