Here is a list of witnesses that claimed they saw Billy the Kid after July 14, 1881, I had gathered from News papers and articles, it may not be a complete list of eyewitnesses? When or if someone finds or is aware of another name not listed please add it to the list. These names are not just a few but close to 10. What are the odds a person is seen alive by close to 10 people after he was supposed to have been deceased? Also if it’s true Higinio Salazar had gotten a letter from Billy the Kid sometime after July 14, 1881. Then there was the Warning poster that was in a Las Vegas NM saloon dated March 24,1882 warning Billy the Kid amongst others to stay away. These are all strange occurrences that happened after July14, 1881 that shouldn’t be ignored, it points to either Billy the Kid surviving that night in Fort Sumner or all these people are wrong? If they are all wrong, then who was it these people were seeing, having meals with, and speaking to?
Manuel Taylor, childhood pal of Billy's from Silver City, claimed he saw Billy at a bullfight in Guadalajara, Mexico in 1914.
Mrs. J. H. Wood, of Seven Rivers, claimed she served Billy a dinner on July 17,1881
Mrs. Syd Boykin, of Lincoln, also claimed Billy visited her after he was supposedly killed.
Ben Harbert, of Taos, New Mexico, claimed he saw him in Taos after July 14, 1881.
Jesse Cox, claimed he had seen and spoken to Billy numerous times after 1881.
Dick Walter, said he saw Billy, a couple times in northeastern Nevada. This sighting is questionable because some friends of Billy’s told him he would recognize Billy by his small head, long neck and especially his eyes, like a wildcats, Walter also said everyone called him Senator Bill.
Mike Landreth said there was no doubt about who it was he saw, 90 miles northeast of Wells in 1922 when he bought a jug of illegal rot gut from the Kid.
Major Gordon Lillie (Pawnee Bill) had with him an affidavit from a man named Ben Herbert from Taos that said a man that loaned him a horse in 1889 was the Kid,
Mrs Annie Dyer Nunn writer Amarillo Tx recalled an interview with an elderly Mexican person from Deming NM that said Billy the Kid was operating a small ranch in Mexico in 1928 and Annie addressed a letter to William H Bonney at that address there was no reply but it was not returned either
John Guheen an Amarillo Plumbing inspector recalled a rider appeared at the old Chisum ranch where he was working 35 yrs ago (from when the article was printed in 1903 After the rider left an elderly Mexican person on the ranch told him the rider was Billy the Kid.
