i think the dark haired smiling lady left of BTK in the croquet tintype - is clearly susan ...she was fond of BTK and i think she may have written the letters to the governor for him...some writing experts detect a woman's hand...i also think susan is the influential woman referred to by paulta maxwell in her burn's interview ...which in fact describes her well..

Why did Brushy think it important to descibe the interior of the McSween house? It is known the the McSweens were fond of BTK - he stayed in their house provided protection along with Big Jim...Susan stayed with the Regulators out of town for protection and provided lawyers when needed for BTK... Brushy thought it important to provide evidence no one else knew - inside the McSween house which ceased to exist after 1878...the escape from Lincoln jail -only he was there with deputy Bell... the shootout with McKinney outside Maxwell's bedroom - contrary to Garrett's narrative and knowing the Hispanic community as second class citzens would never say anything (as the Indians who witnessed the Custer debacle) Brushy's reasoning was that only he knew the unknowable as proof of who he was - which was logical but fortunately for the skeptics this information could be claimed as unproveable....Brushy would not have given this a thought -nor would he have any idea that 100 years later photos of him would still exist - not to mention the definitive proof of his DNA yet to be gathered ...

Great photos! thats got to be her and Big Jim to the right of BTK in the Croquet tin Type - Chisum was not the man Goodnight was. ..perhaps one exception was his kindness towards Susan McSween -providing a body guard (Big Jim) and the herd that got Susan started on the road to become the Cattle Queen of New Mexico.
