Well, Richardson wimped out. Is the Santa Fe Ring still pulling the strings or what? Billy's conviction for killing Brady would not stand up in a modern court of law on appeal. Wallace promised him a pardon. He should get his pardon. But I'm not surprised Richardson backed off. Unfortunately, future govs will probably refuse to consider it.

I agree. I think Richardson looked at it more as a publicity stunt than anything, but backed off when the Garrett and Wallace decendents came out with the "cop killer" and calling Lew Wallace a dishonorable liar stuff. Wimped out is right, to me. Wallace was a liar and those cops were crooked, too (with the possible exception of Bell)!
