"I, the undersigned, Justice of the Peace of the above named precinct, received information that a Murder had taken place a Fort Sumner", interesting he would use the word "MURDER", instead of a shooting or some other term?

I have a copy of the one in Spanish and they used the word muerte. I looked it up and it means death. I also looked up the word for murder and it has asesinato.
On page 108 of Morrison's book, it has , received information that there had been a death in Fort Sumner.

I mentioned not too long ago that Manuel Taylor or Ortero or one of those guys said that Milnor Rudolph was not there to view the body. Paco Anaya mentioned it in his book, that Rudolph did not live in Fort Sumner, also he said Pedro Antonio Lucero never lived in Fort Sumner either. Anaya believed Garrett lost the verdict that the Coroners Jury gave, and afterwards he got Don Pedro Maxwell, and Don Manuel Abreu to write another verdict in Spanish, and according to Anaya the two were not the same, the first verdict in English was written by Pat Garrett, and Anaya said in the book he is sure what is written in the report signed by Don Alejandro Segura was not written by his hand nor did he know about the writing.

Excerpts from Clovis Evening Journal, 1937 Quote: The only living man (in 1937) who saw knew Billy the Kid personally, and who saw him in death, regardless of all the claims of others, is Jesus Silva, 86 year old Spanish American, who yet lives near the historic spot where The Kid was killed. Jesus said about the stories that Billy the Kid was alive, "That may be the rumor, my boy, but if there are dead men in this world, then Billy the Kid is among them. I know he is dead, and as far as I know, I am the only one yet living who saw him in death." www.angelfire.com/nm/boybanditking/page31.html

So, if Brushy was the Kid, he was still living in 1937. Is it not likely that his friend and admirer Jesus Silva would lie to protect him. I've only read that statement by Silva about 100 times, so maybe I missed the part where he signed a sworn affidavit or something. Not.

There's still inconsistencies with his account and others, Deluvina was said by other accounts to be the first to view the body, the time of the shooting is inconsistent as well, Billy's whereabouts before the shooting again differs. Why so many inconsistencies?

I also question why Billy, wanting to go cut some meat, would stop under a cottonwood tree for a neighborly chat and a beer. Where did the beer come from? Jesus was outside and just happened to have a couple beers in hand, just in case some friend was to wander by? I suppose that's possible but it doesn't have the ring of truth if you ask me. Jesus says Billy had just ridden into town but Garrett says he heard the kid's voice in the orchard. Why was he in the Orchard if he had just ridden in and was hungry? Why would Garrett feel he needed to make up that part about the Orchard? Because he needed to introduce more evidence that the fella he shot was indeed Billy. Why did Deluvina say she was the first one to see the body and on another occasion, say she never saw the body. Why would she pick up the gun and put it in the drawer? What happened to the gun? Why would Billy wander around the parade ground in his sock feet? Why would Billy continue speaking in Spanish to Poe and McKinney once they had spoken to him in English? There are way too many unanswered questions. Way too many versions of what happened. That shouts "cover up". Loud and clear.

Lots of good dialogue here...What does it for me is really simple. In today's world if you killed a giant Bear or even a Sasquatch, wouldn't you take a picture of it with the body as your "proof"? Why didn't Garrett take a photo of him by the body, a common practice? Especially considering he was an aspiring politician? He never killed the Kid, regardless of who anyone thinks he did...Zero proof..
